When you are writing content on a regular basis, there are going to be times when it is hard, no matter how much you love writing. In fact, there are going to be times when it is a struggle to string two sentences together, let alone five hundred words! You may also struggle to come up with topics, no matter how long you have been writing about your business on your blog!
Content Marketing is the most fun ever, right?
Writer's block is real and it can really start to mess with your head, making it even harder to continue blogging. Here are some tips to help you get over writer's block.
It is important to remember that writer's block happens to everyone.
When you are stuck staring at your computer, you might feel like a terrible writer. It might help if you realize that you are not alone! Even the best and most prolific writers go through rough spells!
One of the best things that you can do (if you are able) is to get up and walk away and clear your head.
If you aren't getting any writing done, you are just wasting time staring at the computer, especially if you can't even put a sentence or two together. Get up and walk away. Sometimes all it takes is a short walk to clear your mind and get your creative juices flowing again.
Try to write something else.
If you don't have time to waste (because your blog post is due), it might be helpful to write about something else. Whether you string along sentences about an entirely different topic or you just type nonsense words on a page, this may help you focus on the task at hand.
Be prepared.
You shouldn't worry about if writer's block happens to you. Instead, you need to figure out what you are going to do when it happens to you! If you are prepared and have several other blogs post ideas ready and waiting, you won't have to push through a blog post.
If you don't have any, you might want to have a list of potential topics that you are hoping to cover on your blog. This could be a lifesaver when you are ready to write, but you don't know what to write about!
If you have writer's block because you don't like to write, you might prefer to hire someone else to write them for you.
Many people suffer from writer's block because they do not enjoy writing. In fact, every time that they sit down to write, it is a struggle.
For this reason, you may want to hire someone to write your blog content so that you don't have to worry about it at all! Though it will cost you money to do so, think about the time that you waste every week writing your content. You might be able to make enough money in an hour or two to cover the cost of hiring a writer. In other words, invest your time wisely.
Writer's block is a real thing, and it can be devastating, especially when you have to get a blog post published as soon as possible! It may help to know that even the best writers go through spells where they sit and stare at their computers too.
So, let's recap what you can do should writer's block strike you.
- Sometimes, all you have to do is get up and walk away. A break can refresh your brain and get your creative juices flowing.
- If you don't have time to waste, you might want to write anything that comes to mind. Sometimes that is enough to get words flowing.
- Don't worry if writing is not your thing. It might be easier for you to hire someone to write your content for you.
